    Enhanced health services launched for bedridden in Kuwait

    Dr. Khaled Al-Saeed, Kuwait’s Minister of Health, announced the launch of a new service for the bedridden that includes home visits within the framework of an integrated multi-faceted service plan aligned with Kuwait’s New Kuwait Vision 2035. Al-Saeed affirmed in a press statement, Thursday, that the enhanced service aims to achieve the goals of sustainable development, and it reflects the ministry’s concern to ensure everyone leads a healthy lifestyle.

    Enhanced health services launched for bedridden in KuwaitAl-Saeed explained that the service will follow up on patients with chronic conditions, review medications and treatments, provide oral and dental services, physiotherapy, and nutrition. Health care centers are the first line of defense for the health system, he noted, hailing the Central Administration of Primary Health Care for launching this new service. Dr. Alia Al-Dhubaib, Director of the Central Department of Primary Health Care, said teams of doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, nurses, laboratory technicians, and nutritionists would provide home visits.

    Dr. Al-Dhubaib added that the residents of the area can either apply for the service through the website or request the service through the local health center according to their residence. She says that the preparations for implementing this service are complete, and it is only available for periodic cases. In addition, and not for emergency cases, adding that the ministry is committed to providing this service with the highest level of quality.
